Dayla’s history dates from the late 19th century when we started life as a drinks manufacturer and wholesale supplier to the licensed trade. In 1956 the business was acquired by the current owners and in the 1960s we entered the drinks dispense market, becoming one of the first companies in the UK providing soft drinks on draught. In the mid 1980s Dayla helped pioneer the change to ‘Bag in Box’ format for dispensed soft drinks, and the focus of the company moved towards this type of product from then onwards.
A new direction in the early 1990s saw growth begin in earnest, when we became the first company in Europe to pack fruit juice in Bag in Box, which was a unique concept at the time. This became a major success and within 10 years we had secured 90% of the UK market in Bag in Box juice concentrates. In 2001 we moved to a purpose built 30,000 sq ft purpose built factory to fully accommodate this growth and create the capacity for more.
Today, with over 70 customers, 600 lines and recipes and 1800 raw materials on site, we’re the UK’s largest independent aseptic & non-aseptic Bag-in-Box filler and one of the leaders in Europe. We work closely with our customers and suppliers to provide the most cost effective route to market for fruit juice and soft drinks on draught.

In 2011 Dayla was acquired by Nichols plc, owner of the Vimto brand. Having worked closely with Nichols subsidiary Cabana for many years, this move will give Dayla the ability to continue with the established pattern of strong growth and innovation.
